Overview
You can visit Türkiye as a Standard Visitor for tourism, business, short-term study (up to 90 days), and other permitted activities.
You can usually stay in Türkiye for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. Depending on your nationality, you may be exempt from a visa, eligible for an e-Visa, or required to apply for a sticker visa at a consulate.

What you can and cannot do
You can visit Türkiye as a Standard Visitor:
for tourism, holiday, or vacation
to see your family or friends
for business activities, such as attending meetings, conferences, or trade fairs
for short-term education, such as a Turkish language course or a short internship (under 90 days)
to pass through Türkiye to another country (in transit)
to participate in sports or cultural events
for medical reasons (treatment in Turkish hospitals)
You cannot:
do paid or unpaid work for a Turkish company or as a self-employed person
stay longer than 90 days without applying for a Short-Term Residence Permit
claim public funds (social benefits)
Check you meet the eligibility requirements
You must have a passport or travel document that is valid for at least 60 days beyond the duration of your visa or visa-free stay.
You must be able to show that:
you’ll leave Türkiye at the end of your visit
you’re able to support yourself during your trip
you’re able to pay for your return or onward journey
Check if you need a visa to visit Türkiye
Depending on your nationality, you will fall into one of these three categories:
Visa-Exempt: You can enter Türkiye with just your passport (or ID card for certain EU citizens) for up to 90 days.
e-Visa: You must apply for an Electronic Visa (e-Visa) before you travel. This takes about 5 minutes to complete online.
Sticker Visa: You must apply at a Turkish Embassy or Consulate in your country of residence if you are not eligible for an e-Visa or visa exemption.
Staying longer than 90 days
If you wish to stay in Türkiye for longer than 90 days for tourism or other purposes, you must apply for a Short-Term Residence Permit before your initial 90-day stay expires.
