When you do not need an e-Visa
You do not need an e-Visa to travel to Türkiye if:
you’re a citizen of the Republic of Türkiye
you’re a Blue Card (Mavi Kart) holder
you have a valid Turkish Residence Permit or Work Permit
you have a valid sticker visa issued by a Turkish Embassy or Consulate
you’re from a country that has a visa-waiver agreement with Türkiye
you’re a cruise ship passenger visiting a Turkish port city or neighboring cities for up to 72 hours (provided you stay within the designated area)
you’re transiting through a Turkish airport and you will not pass through border control — check with your airline if you are not sure.
you’re exempt from immigration control under international agreements or special legislation
Dual citizens
If you’re a dual citizen and one of your citizenships is Turkish, you cannot get an e-Visa. When you travel to Türkiye, you can prove your citizenship using:
a valid Turkish passport
a valid Turkish National ID card (if traveling from a country that allows ID-only entry)
You may have Turkish citizenship automatically if you:
have a Turkish parent
have acquired Turkish citizenship through naturalization or marriage
If you have a Residence or Work Permit
You do not need an e-Visa if you hold a valid:
Turkish Residence Permit card
Turkish Work Permit card (which also serves as a residence permit)
If you’re from a country that normally needs a visa but you hold a valid permit, you must present your physical permit card along with your passport at the border.
